Results of swab test may take 5-6 days due to heavy rush, DC urges passengers to have patience
Keerthi Jalli visits screening camp at ISBT
May 20: It would take around 5 to 6 days to provide the results of swab tests as there is a heavy rush. Meanwhile, the quarantined passengers may accordingly wait in the quarantine centres. This was said by Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli during her visit to the screening camp at ISBT, Ramnagar on Wednesday. Jalli further said that due to huge rush, passengers may even have to wait at zonal screening centre for couple of hours. She urged upon the people not to get impatient as collection of swab is a time consuming process with all data needs to be entered in the system. DC Jalli assured that things are being taken care of by the District Administration Cachar and requested for cooperation.
The Deputy Commissioner during her visit to ISBT on Wednesday was also accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattwan, Additional Superintendent of Police Jagadish Das and Gourab Agarwal. Jalli discussed in detail with Gurnel Singh, in-charge of screening camp at ISBT to arrangements for proper food and also to maintain the hygiene of the screening camp. She gave instruction to keep vehicles ready at hand for transportation of passengers coming to ISBT for screening, as and when required. Jalli told the in-charge to keep the database of the persons coming for screening updated.
Deputy Commissioner took stock about the status of the passengers at the screening center at ISBT and also took note of the manifold issues faced by the officials over there. Jalli inspected all the buildings in the ISBT campus. She also enquired about the drinking water and toilet facilities provided to the inmates at the centre. She directed the officials to provide additional drinking water facilities at the centre. To meet the increasing demand of more number of people coming from outside, Jalli said that shops are to be opened at the screening centre.
