Recruitment Exam: ABVP demands removal of the present Exam in-charges of Cachar College

Aug. 24: In a press statement issued by the Silchar Unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Wednesday, it was stated that those involved in connection with the untoward incident which occurred on 21 August during the Recruitment Exam of Grade IV should be punished as per the law of the land.

The press statement issued by ABVP further stated that if at all the teacher of Cachar College, Silchar was physically assaulted, then it is highly condemnable. A thorough investigation into the incident needs to be done and those guilty should be punished as per law. ABVP also demanded that it should be ensured that no such incident takes place in the upcoming examination for Grade III posts either at Cachar College centre or any other examination centers.

ABVP also stated that the administration should take necessary preventive measures by removing the present examination in-charges, who are responsible for conducting the recruitment exam in Cachar College. Apart from this, the student body also said that the agitation stated by the students in the college campus on Tuesday was not done by the ABVP or its functionaries. Those who considered themselves responsible functionaries of ABVP, did not join the students movement on that day.

The press statement issued by Bishal Nath, Office Secretary of ABVP also put forth certain suggestions as regards the smooth conduct of Grade III Exam on 28 August and 11 September.  These include, setting up of examination centers in Karimganj and Hailakandi districts, special provision of public transport from various points (including remote areas) to destination centres, prior notification of transport arrangements etc. ABVP also stated that public transport can be arranged from Silchar railway station to various points of the examination center, so that the candidates can reach the exam center on time. This measures need to be adopted as a precautionary measure to  avoid traffic jam. Besides, suggestion was put forth to arrange examination centers within the town area.
