SJ Road to Chesri Gonirgram to remain closed on October 23

way2barak, October 22: — The Public Works (Roads) Department (PWRD), Borkhola and Katigorah Territorial Road Division, has announced a one-day closure of the SJ Road to Chesri Gonirgram route on October 23, to facilitate an important confirmatory trial patch test under the PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana) project.
According to an official release issued by Executive Engineer K.B. Nath, the road closure is necessitated to carry out the Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) technology-based trial work, a modern method aimed at strengthening rural road infrastructure. The nature of the work requires a complete shutdown of vehicular movement on the mentioned stretch for safety and quality adherence as per technical specifications.
The department has requested all road users to use alternate routes on the day of the closure. Authorities have expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to commuters and assured that the short-term disruption is vital for ensuring long-lasting and improved road quality under the PMGSY initiative.
This is stated in a press release issued by Regional office of Information & Public Relations Barak valley Zone Silchar Assam.
