Police starts action in Assam; 47 people held for drunk driving in Guwahati, licence suspended

Dec. 25: Acting on the directives of the Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma Guwahati Traffic Police swung into action. The Chief Minister has ordered the state police department to ensure that no accidents take place during the New Year celebrations.

Taking to its twitter handle, the traffic police department wrote, ““Drive Against Drunken Driving: A total of 47 people were intercepted for drunk driving last night. Their licences are being suspended & a Fine of Rs.10,000/- being imposed on them.”
