The members of the NGO also had a lively interaction with them and participated in various activities, such as, singing, poetry, art and craft. The children were enlightened to receive such warm love from the sudden visitors and duly impressed with their diverse skills. The beautiful evening finally culminated with a small cake-cutting ceremony, celebrating the ‘Shubho Noboborsho, 1429.
Speaking to our correspondent, the PAAVAN members said that they have always strived towards helping out communities which have been ignored by a larger part of the society. The members have called up for support from the public for their future endeavours, so that everyone can work together to integrate with the marginalised communities.
Arundhati Dutta Choudhury said, “We have formed PAAVAN to do something beneficial for the marginalised sections of the society. I along with Anusakha Chakraborty founded this organisation. In fact, when we sat to finalise the name of our organisation, we were six members by that time. So we decided to keep a name out of the first six alphabets of our names. The six members are Priya, Arundhati, Anusakha, Vijoyeta, Anindita and Namrata.”
