Mobile app ‘DRISTI’ launched to monitor works of PMAGY in 60 villages in Cachar

Aug 17: Under Pradhan Mantri Adharsh Gram Yojana, out of 64 villages in Cachar district, four villages have been declared as model villages as work has been completed. The declaration was made at a function organised by the District Administration Cachar here on Tuesday in presence of people’s representatives, panchayat officials and top officials of various departments.

Deputy Commissioner , Cachar, Keerthi formally launched a mobile app called “DRISTI”on the occasion to monitor the activities of the remaining 60 villages in the District.

While speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli said, “Under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna (PMAGY), a scheme monitoring application has been developed locally which is the first of its kind. Our four villages have already been declared as adarsh gaon (ideal village). We have included Anganwadi centres, road and transport, fisheries, solar street light under the convergence scheme model. Most importantly, for this performance, Cachar has been given the best district award in the national level for which I truly thank the entire team for their outstanding support and hard work in order to make it a successful one”.

“Journey of conversion of model village under PMAGY has been started since 2020 and process for village development plan has been completed on 2 October, 2020 showing various convergence and gap filling projects. During the time last election uploaded in PMAGY portal for which cachar District PMAGY cell has received the Best District award at National level under PMAGY,” she added.

Appreciating the performance of the various Departments Jalli said, “Cachar District has been given the best status at the national level by the central government due to the high quality work done in these four ideal villages. In these ideal villages, various facilities like distribution of nutritious food at Anganwari center, repair of building of educational institutions, construction of roads, management of fishery, provision of drinking water, electric lighting etc. have been provided to the villagers. Further attempts have been made to meet the remaining money gap of convergence or coordination of different departments and overall development during the formation of the ideal village.”

Deputy Commissioner also requested the GP secretaries to give priority to the work of Adarsh ​​villages. At the function, three MLAs Mihir Kanti Som, Kaushik Rai, Dipayan Chakraborty, representative of MP, Silchar, Pulak Das and Katigorah MLA’s representative appealed to the officials of different departments to take care of Adarsh ​​villages. Chief Executive Officer of Cachar Zilla Parishad, Eldrad Faheirm, District Development Commissioner, Cachar, Rajib Roy and Ruli Daulagupu SPO while presenting the relevant work record, said that work has already been started in ten more villages.

It is pertinent to mention that Barsangan grant under Tapang block, Nuwagang Forest Village under Dholai constituency, Tulagram part 2 under Sonai Block, Srikona grant under Tapang block have been declared as four ideal villages in Cachar District.
