Online portal to be launched for free registration of unemployed youth through AADHAR: CM Assam
June 30: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday reviewed the functioning of Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department and Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training in the presence of Industries & Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary.
During the presentation by the Employment Department, it was revealed that there are a total number of 52 Employment Exchanges in the state. As on December 2020, 20,80,767 job aspirants registered themselves in the different Employment Exchanges of Assam, out of which, 6,78,638 are female and 34,136 are PwDs. Many of them are still now unemployed. However, most of them are aspiring for permanent jobs in the government sector with higher pay and perks.

The following Directives were issued:
- Launch online portal for free registration of unemployed youth through AADHAR
- Make six ITIs under construction functional & create new posts
- Take steps to appoint VC of Assam Skill University
- Steps by ITIs & Transport Dept to train 5000 youth
