Online condolence meeting organised by Women’s College to mourn the demise of Dr Jayati Chakraborty

May 8: A condolence meet was organised by Women’s College Silchar on the Google meet virtual platform to pay tributes to Dr Jayati Chakraborty, assistant professor at Department of Bengali of the college who breathed her last after battling against COVID-19 on May 6 at 6:15 PM at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

Presiding over the meeting, Dr Manoj Kumar Paul, Principal of the college termed the demise of Dr Jayati Chakraborty as an irreplaceable loss for the college fraternity. The academician who was also a famed cultural personality of the region left too soon for us to even comprehend and accept the reality, he said.

Colleagues and office staff of the college recollected their moments shared with the Dr Chakraborty and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. Also the teachers wished that son of Dr Chakraborty stays in good stead and shines bright overcoming the shocking loss of his mother’s demise at this stage of life. A minute’s silence was observed in memory of Dr Chakraborty as the meeting on the virtual space concluded.
