NRC: NELAECC also to participate in torch rally on 2 October

২৭ সেপ্টেম্বরঃ এনআরসি-র পুনঃআবেদনে ১৫ নথির সবকটি বহাল রাখার দাবিতে বরাক উপত্যকায় আন্দোলন ক্রমে দানা বাঁধছে। নিঃশর্ত নাগরিকত্ব দাবি মঞ্চ আগেই জানিয়ে দিয়েছে, আগামী ২ অক্টোবর সন্ধ্যা ৫টায় ক্ষুদিরাম মূর্তির পাদদেশ থেকে মশাল মিছিল বের করা হবে। নর্থ-ইস্ট লিঙ্গুইস্টিক অ্যান্ড এথনিক কো-অর্ডিনেশন কমিটি (নেলেক)-ও অনুরূপ কর্মসূচির কথা ভাবছিল। বৃহস্পতিবার তাদের গণঅভিবর্তনে সিদ্ধান্ত হয়, পৃথক মশাল মিছিল যুক্তিহীন। বরং একই দাবিতে যে সংগঠন এই কর্মসূচি ঘোষণা করেছে, তাদের সঙ্গে সক্রিয় অংশ নিয়ে বড়সড় মিছিল আয়োজনেরই সিদ্ধান্ত হয়। নেলেক এ দিন প্রতিবাদী চেহারা নিয়েই গণঅভিবর্তন করে। কালো ব্যাজ পরে সবাই ৫ নথি বাতিল প্রস্তাবের নিন্দা জানান। সারা বিকেল এনআরসি-র নতুন নির্দেশিকার নানা দিক পর্যালোচনা করা হয়। অধিকাংশ বক্তা তীব্র ক্ষোভ ব্যক্ত করেন। পরে মশাল মিছিল ছাড়াও সিদ্ধান্ত হয়, পথসভা করে তাঁরা জনগণের কাছে পৌঁছনোর চেষ্টা করবেন। জনস্বার্থ সংশ্লিষ্ট মামলা (পিআইএল) করার ব্যাপারে নেলেক আগেই সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছিল। এ দিন তার অগ্রগতির কথা সবাইকে জানান আইনজীবী শান্তনু নায়েক। তিনি বলেন, সমস্ত পয়েন্ট তৈরি করে নেওয়া হয়েছে। এ বার বেশি দেরি না করে আইনজীবীর কাছে পৌঁছে দেওয়া হবে।

বৃহস্পতিবার গণঅভিবর্তনে অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে বক্তব্য রাখেন সংগঠনের সাধারণ সম্পাদক কঙ্কন নারায়ণ সিকদার, অল বরাক হিন্দু বেঙ্গলি অ্যাসোসিয়েশন (আভা)-র বাসুদেব শর্মা, সুব্রত ভট্টাচার্য, ড. অভিজিত নাথ, করিমগঞ্জ থেকে আগত আইনজীবী রবিজিত চক্রবর্তী, কৃশানু ভট্টাচার্য, পার্থসারথি চন্দ, দেবাশিস সোম প্রমুখ। সবাই মাঠে নেমে মিছিল-মিটিঙের পাশাপাশি আইনি লড়াইয়ে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেন। কিরিটীভূষণ পুরকায়স্থ, ড. বিভাস দেব, ড. সত্যভূষণ পাল প্রমুখ এনআরসি-র বর্তমান প্রেক্ষাপটে নিজেদের মতামত ব্যক্ত করেন।

September 27: People of Barak Valley are gradually moving towards the path of agitation in demand of retaining all the 15 documents during the process of claims and objection. The Unconditional Citizenship Demand Forum has already declared that they will take out a torch rally on October 2 at 5 in the evening from near the statue of Khudiram. Even the North East Linguistic and Ethnic Coordination Committee (NELAECC) was contemplating to take in hand a similar programme. On Thursday, during their mass convention, it was decided that taking out separate torch rally will be meaningless. Rather they decided to support the Unconditional Citizenship Demand Forum and join hands to make that torch rally a grand success.

In that mass convention, all of them wore black badge as a mark of protest for deleting 5 documents as a proof of citizenship for submission of claims and objections. Majority of the speakers expressed deep concern and as a result strong resolutions were adopted. It was resolved that apart from the torch rally, they will also do street meetings for making the people aware. NELAECC has already decided to file a PIL in this regard. Advocate Santanu Nayak informed the house that all the relevant points have been noted down in this regard and very soon the PIL will be registered.

A host of speakers including Kankan Narayan Sikdar, Basudev Sharma, Subrata Bhattacharjee, Advocate Rabijit Chakraborty, Partha Sarathi Chanda, Debashish Shome, Kiriti Bhushan purkayastha, Dr. Bivash Deb, Dr. Satya Bhusan Paul and others upholded their views in the backdrop of NRC.
