When Punjab’s charm collides with Kerala’s grace, expect fireworks of the most romantic and comical kind. Param Sundari, the upcoming Hindi romantic comedy directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, promises just that. Set to release on August 29 in cinemas, the film brings together Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor in a pairing that already has fans buzzing.
The trailer introduces us to Param Sachdev (Sidharth Malhotra), a lively Punjabi lad, and Dekhpatta Sundari Damodaram Pellai (Janhvi Kapoor), a spirited woman from Kerala. Their worlds couldn’t be more different—until fate throws them into the same roof. Param, along with his friend (played by Manjot Singh), seemingly comes to stay at Sundari’s house, where cheeky banter and flirtatious encounters start to bloom.
The trailer, released on August 13, has already racked up massive views online. What’s striking is its clever restraint—it offers a taste of the film’s humour, energy, and chemistry without giving away the entire plot. From Param’s awkward-yet-charming advances to Sundari’s quick-witted comebacks, it’s clear the film thrives on cultural contrast and playful misunderstandings.

Adding to the film’s allure is its vibrant soundtrack by Sachin–Jigar, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The music has struck a chord even before the film’s release—the peppy Pardesiya dropped on July 30, followed by the sultry Bheegi Saree on August 8. Both singles have been on repeat for rom-com lovers, proving Maddock’s knack for delivering chartbusters. Universal Music India has acquired the audio rights, ensuring a wide musical reach.
The ensemble cast boasts seasoned performers—Sanjay Kapoor and Malayalam cinema veteran Renji Panicker—adding depth to the romantic comedy’s cultural mix. And if Maddock Films’ track record (Stree, Luka Chuppi, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke) is anything to go by, Param Sundari will likely balance humour, heart, and a touch of the unexpected.
With its “North meets South” premise, crackling chemistry, and hummable music, Param Sundari looks poised to be a breezy entertainer for late August. As the countdown to August 29 begins, audiences seem ready to be swept away by Param and Sundari’s unlikely, laughter-filled love story.
