Nexa Silchar Central, Jain Udyog also joins fight against hunger during the Covid-19 pandemic

June 17: At this hour of crisis when the society is in the grip of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Nexa Silchar Central and Jain Udyog joined fight against hunger. It’s not the first time that they have come forward to serve the society, but in the past too, they had undertaken various activities of social awareness and stood besides the poor and needy. During the 2nd wave, many people were again in great distress. To help atleast some of the disadvantaged, Nexa Silchar Central and Jain Udyog took to the streets on Wednesday night.

As good Samaritans, the employees of the business organisation (Nexa Silchar Central, Jain Udyog) distributed food among the needy at Silchar Railway Station, Tarapur and also at other parts of the town. Apart from the food, they also distributed face masks among these people. In this noble attempt, they were lend a helping hand by social worker Subir Dhar.

Expressing his views, Biplab Dey, Manager of Nexa Silchar Central said, “Though we are a business organisation, but we thought in this difficult time, we should come forward for society & accordingly this initiative was taken. In the past too, we did social activities like blood donation camp, road safety awareness rally etc. Moreover during the pandemic last year also, Jain Udyog donated Rs 10 lakh for the social cause. We will do such initiatives of providing food to the hungry and needy people atleast once in month till the situation does not improve.”
