New Relaxation: Home food can now be served to +ve patients in COVID-19 centres
July 1: From now onwards, home cooked food can be served to corona patients who are admitted in COVID Care Centres across the state. This change in protocol was announced by State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press briefing in Guwahati on Wednesday.
Elaborating on this issue, the minister said that many patients might have different food habits and so from this view point from now, the family of the COVID patient can send food from home in disposable packets. The family members will not be allowed to go inside the COVID wards, but they will hand over the food packets to the health staff in the hospitals, who will in turn deliver the same to the patients admitted in the COVID ward/care centres. He, however, also mentioned that, in case of serious patients admitted in ICU, this relaxation in facility will not be allowed.
