Nagaland imposes 7-day complete lockdown in Kohima from 25 July
July 23: The Kohima administration announced a 7-day complete lockdown starting from 25 July in the Kohima Municipal area in the view of rising COVID-19 cases. The lockdown will be in force till 31 July. In an order issued by Kohima Deputy Commissioner Gregory Thejawelie, it was stated that the decision was taken as per the need of the district at an emergency meeting on Thursday.
Nagaland on Thursday recorded the highest single-day spike of 90 COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally to 1,174. The active cases in the state rose to 644, while 530 people have recovered so far. Dimapur has reported the maximum number of COVID-19 cases in the state so far at 458 followed by Kohima at 278.
