১২ সেপ্টেম্বর: যুদ্ধবিমান কিনতে গিয়ে হাজার হাজার কোটি টাকার কেলেঙ্কারিতে জড়িয়েছে নরেন্দ্র মোদির বিজেপি সরকার। এই অভিযোগে আজ শিলচরে মিছিল করে কংগ্রেস। ইন্দিরা ভবন থেকে বেরিয়ে শহরের প্রধান প্রধান সড়ক প্রদক্ষিণ করে তারা যান জেলাশাসকের অফিসের সামনে।

রাষ্ট্রপতির উদ্দেশে লেখা স্মারকলিপি তুলে দেন অতিরিক্ত জেলাশাসক রাজীব রায়ের হাতে। তাতে তারা রাফায়েল বিমান কেলেঙ্কারি তদন্তের জন্য যৌথ সংসদীয় কমিটি গঠনের নির্দেশ দিতে দাবি করা হয়েছে। সাংসদ সুস্মিতা দেব আজকের মিছিলে নেতৃত্ব দেন। সঙ্গে ছিলেন প্রাক্তন মন্ত্রী অজিত সিংহ, জেলা কংগ্রেস সভাপতি প্রদীপ কুমার দে প্রমুখ।

সুস্মিতা বলেন, ভ্রষ্টাচারের বিরুদ্ধে জেহাদের ডাক দিয়েই প্রধানমন্ত্রী হয়েছেন নরেন্দ্র মোদি। কিন্তু এখন দুর্নীতি, ভ্রষ্টাচার চোখে আঙুল দিয়ে দেখিয়ে দিলেও তিনি দেখতে চান না। আম্বানিকে সুবিধা পাইয়ে দিতে বর্তমান সরকার পুরনো চুক্তির সমস্ত শর্ত বদলে দিয়েছে। কোনও তথ্য চাইলেই গোপনীয়তার কথা বলে এড়িয়ে যান।

September 12: In September 2016, India signed an inter-governmental agreement with France, dubbed as “Rafale deal”, in which India bought 36 off-the-shelf Dassault Rafale twin-engine fighters for a price estimated to be Rs. 58,000 crore or 7.8 billion Euros. Soon after the deal was declared, the Congress accused the ruling BJP of non-transparency in the multi-billion dollar deal and called it “one of the biggest failures” of the ‘Make-in-India’ programme.

As a mark of protest, Congress party took out a protest rally at Silchar on Wednesday. The rally originating from Indira Bhavan went around all the major points of the town and finally reached the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar.

A memorandum was handed over to ADC Rajib Roy for onward transmission to the President of India. In that memorandum, they urged upon the President to give necessary directions for constituting a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on this issue. The protest rally was led by MP Sushmita Dev. Also present during the rally were former minister Ajit Singh, District Congress President Pradip Kumar Dey, Partha Ranjan Chakraborty, Sanjib Roy, Dipan Dewanji and others.

Addressing the party workers, Sushmits Dev said that Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister by waging a war against corruption. But now he has become blind and fails to see the ongoing corrupt dealings even if it is pointed out to him. In order to give added advantage to Ambani, Modi government has altered all the provisions of the earlier agreement regarding Rafale deal. No information is shared by the government on the condition of secrecy.
