Mission Election: Pm Modi to address 20 rallies in West Bengal & 6 in Assam
March 2: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all geared up to turn the fortune of assembly polls in West Bengal and Assam in its favour. Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to leave no stones unturned to convince the electors of these two states in favour of the BJP. Responding to the huge demand of local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders of these two states, PM Modi is all set to address 20 rallies in poll-bound West Bengal and six rallies in neighbouring Assam.
According to sources, the rallies are planned in such a way that all the 23 districts of West Bengal and 33 districts of Assam will be covered in these rallies. BJP’s primary focus this time is on West Bengal, a state where it has enhanced its support base considerably over the past five years and has emerged as the leading competitor to the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress. Meanwhile in Assam, the election is crucial for the BJP because it has been in power in the state for the past five years and wants to retain its power.
West Bengal Assembly elections will be held in eight phases starting from March 27 with the final round of voting taking place on April 29. In Assam, the Assembly elections shall be held in three phases beginning from March 27 with the final round of voting taking place on April 6. Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are also slated to go to polls in 2021. Counting of votes of all the 4 states and 1 Union Territory will take place on May 2.
