Mask selling stalls set up at Sonai & Silchar

May 02. Two reusable and washable mask selling stalls have been set up at Sonai Town & Rangirkhari point, Cachar on Saturday. The masks were produced by the self help groups (SHGs) of Cachar District under the banner of Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission, Cachar. With a view to make available of reusable & washable low cost mask to the public in this crisis situation.

The first stall was inaugurated at Sonai Town by Aminul Haque Laskar, Deputy Speaker, Assam in presence of Amitabh Rai, President, Cachar Zilla Parishad, Dipshika Dey, CEO, Cachar Zilla Parishad, Rasaraj Das, Special executive officer, DRDA. Soumitra Kumar Dey, DPM, ASRLM. Deputy Speaker, Assam appreciated the SHG members for this initiative and their untiring effort. He also requested the public to purchase the reusable and washable face masks from the stall. He said that wearing mask and maintaining social distance is mandatory keeping in the fight against COVID-19.

The second stall was inaugurated at Rangirkhari, Silchar by Dilip Kumar Paul, MLA, Silchar in presence of President, Cachar Zilla Parishad, CEO, Cachar Zilla Parishad, SEO, DRDA, Cachar, DPM, ASRLM, Cachar, BDO, Silchar Development Block and other dignitaries with a view to provide a good market space for selling of face masks by the SHG members and make available of reusable and washable face masks. MLA  Dilip Paul addressed that, wearing mask is mandatory for all keeping in view the spread of deadly COVID-19. He also stated that, mask production and sale will give quite a good market to the SHG and will help then to earn during this crisis phase. MLA Paul purchased 50 masks from the stall soon after inauguration just to encourage the SHG members.
