Leo & Smile organises Blood Donation Camp at Silchar

August 30: Unpaid volunteers who donate on a regular basis are a crucial element in the provision of a safe and reliable supply of blood. A unit of blood can indeed make a difference between life and death. Keeping this aspects in mind, Leo Club of Silchar, the youth wing of Lions Club of Silchar Lioness organised a mega voluntary blood donation camp on Friday. The Leos collaborated with Smile in this noble venture.

This Mega Blood Donation Camp by Leo Club of Silchar was held on 30 August, 2019 at PWD Athletic Club, Opposite Development Authority, PWD Road, Silchar. The camp started at 11 in the morning. Their parent club, Lions Club Of Silchar Lioness also joined them in this blood donation camp. 

Speaking to way2barak, Anupriya Deb, President of  Leo Club of Silchar said, “We received good response and collected a total 14 units of blood including 4 female donors. We also had 3 first time donors. Unfortunately, around 11 donors had to return disheartened as they could not donate blood due to various physical ailments.”

Ms Deb further said, ” I would like to thank the team of Smile and PWD Athletic Club for their kind co-operation. This camp would not have been possible without the help of the staff of Satindra Mohan Dev Civil Hospital, Silchar.”
