CM offers prayers at Sri Maa Manasa Devi Temple in Keotpara, Azara
Guwahati, July 17 : Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today visited the Sri Sri Maa Manasa Devi Temple at Keotpara in Azara, Guwahati, where he offered prayers during the Manasa Puja for the peace, well-being, and prosperity of the people of Assam. Addressing a gathering of devotees at the temple, Dr. Sarma noted that his prayers at the feet of Maa Manasa were made with the development of the state and the welfare of its people,
particularly the local community, in mind.

Referring to the State Government’s earlier financial assistance for the temple’s infrastructural development, he urged the temple committee to ensure timely utilisation of the sanctioned funds. He added that upon full expenditure of the previously allocated amount, the Government would consider extending further support towards the temple’s infrastructure. He also stated that road development work in the area would continue and that the issues related to the nearby Deepor Beel would be addressed.

Earlier, the Sri Sri Maa Manasa Devi Puja Committee, along with local organisations, felicitated the Chief Minister. The Puja Committee, while thanking him for the grant of Rs. 50 lakh extended last year for the development of the temple established in 1973, also requested further financial assistance this year to complete the remaining works. After the meeting, Dr. Sarma visited the temple premises for an inspection.
