Leading citizens contacted by Assam govt & enquired about their condition during lockdown

April 15: Hrishikesh Goswami, Media adviser to Chief Minister of Assam has instructed all the DIPROs during a video conference to contact leading citizens of the district and make an enquiry about their present condition and health status during the lockdown period due to outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Responding to the appeal made by Chief Minister, calls were made from the Regional Office of Information and Public Relations on Wednesday to 25 leading citizens as well as elderly persons of Cachar district and conveyed the message to them over telephone. All of them responded well and expressed their gratitude towards the initiative taken by the Chief Minister of Assam.

Meanwhile, Barnali Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, who was also involved in the initiative, has urged all the citizens of the district to follow the lockdown religiously and help the government in its fight against COVID-19.
