Unable to land due to poor weather, SpiceJet flight goes back to Kolkata on Saturday

June 18: Due to excessive rainfall, Barak Valley has been land locked and severed from other parts of the state and the country. Even due to extremely poor weather, flights were unable to land at Silchar Airport. Many passengers who were travelling by flight on this route experienced severe turbulence.

On Saturday, SpiceJet Flight No. SG-4038, which departed from Kolkata at 6.40 AM was supposed to reach Silchar at 8 AM. However, due to poor weather, the flight after arriving at Silchar was unable to land. As per reports, the flight made around ten repeated attempts to land at Silchar Airport, but all the efforts of the pilot failed due to bad weather. Finally, the aircraft went back to Kolkata. As per reports, the flight has been rescheduled later today.

Barak Valley is witnessing torrential rainfall owing to which it has become too much difficult even for the flights to operate on this route.
