Lalit Jain Commerce College completes 25 years, celebrations marred by Covid-19
July 18: It was in 1996 that Lalit Jain Commerce College started its journey at Meherpur, Silchar. The college successfully completed 25 silver years. In these years, the college carved a niche for itself in the minds of the people. The college has been relentlessly striving to achieve excellence in the field of Commerce. Till now, many students have passed out from Lalit Jain Commerce College with flying colours.
The college completed 25 years of its existence on 18 July, 2021. However, due to the restrictions imposed by the state government as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the college failed to celebrate the day. Obeying Covid-19 protocol, the college flag was hoisted by its Principal Amarnath Singh in presence of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college.
Expressing his views, Amarnath Singh, Principal of Lalit Jain Commerce College said, “It is indeed a very happy moment for the college fraternity. However, due to Covid-19, we were unable to celebrate the Silver jubilee of our college in a befitting manner. But we are hopeful that very soon Covid-19 phase will pass way and we all will be able to return back to normal functioning. It is then that we will be celebrating our silver jubilee in a grand way. as the Principal of this institution, I would thank our Managing Committee, the teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, students and people of the valley for their relentless support. Long live Lalit Jain Commerce College.”
