Int’l seminar held in Haflong on Stone Jar artefacts of Neolithic Age found in Dima Hasao

way2barak, Nov.19: Dima Hasao district of Assam has many sites with Stone Jar artefacts of Neolithic Age. The archaeology department has now started a process of study and protection, and an international seminar was held today at Haflong. This was stated by Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu in a tweet on Monday.

These jars are believed to be used for funerary purpose. Similar types of stone jars are also found in Laos, which has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage tag.
