India creates record: 1st country to register more than 90,000 cases in a day

Sept. 6: India has become the 1st country in the world to report more than 90,000 COVID-19 positive cases in a day. On Saturday, a total of 10,92,654 tests were done throughout the country, out of which 90,632 were detected as COVID-19 positive. With this, the novel coronavirus tally of India has gone upto 41,13,811. So far, this is the biggest single-day spike. The COVID-19 death toll in the country has gone upto 70,626. As of now, 31,80,865 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged. At present, 8,62,320 are active cases.
