In-house fight in BJP, Nirmal Nunisa resigns as Director of APDCL
October 27: Well, as the big battle of ballot of 2019 is approaching near, crack seems to appear in the strong fort of the ruling BJP. A sharp observation would reveal whispers in the political circle regarding growing discontent among BJP leaders. After Duliajan MLA Teras Gowala resigned last week, another long time BJP leader and Director of the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), Nirmal Nunisa submitted his resignation on Friday.
In his resignation letter addressed to Assam BJP President Ranjit Kumar Das Nirmal Nunisa wrote categorically that he has resigned from the post of Director of the APDCL keeping in mind the future generation of Assam.
Nirmal Nunisa in his resignation letter made it explicit that he has lost faith in the decision making capability of the top leaders of the party. He further criticized the policy of demonitisation, which he said has ‘severely affected the people of the lower class including both the middle class, lower middle and poor people in the country.” As regards Assam chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Mr. Nunisa wrote that the CM inspite of belonging to the indigenous community of the region has failed to deliver any significant work in the tribal-dominated areas.
It has been learnt that this senior leader (Nirmal Nunisa) was not happy with the activities of the party of late. The silence of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 has been learnt to have disturbed Nunisa a lot.
