ICT based training cum awareness programme for disbursement of pension held in Cachar
Dec 14: In a very thoughtful step to simply and facilitate disbursement of pension to the retired employees, National Informatics Centre (NIC) has developed online pension sanction and tracking system. Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal has flagged off the pilot implementation of online pension sanction and tracking system developed by NIC on 1 October, 2020.
As a part of pilot implementation, a training cum awareness programme for the three districts of Barak Valley was held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar on Monday. The training programme will continue till Thursday. It is pertinent to mention here that the pilot project ‘Kritagyata’ is a gratitude shown by the State Government for the life time service rendered by its retired employees.
It is an one-stop transparent ICT platform with a user friendly interface. It provides all the required information and guidance on retirement procedure. It does calculation of benefits based on individual user specifics and enables real time application status tracking and also initiates activity and status alerts. ‘Kritagyata’ benefits will accrue in the form of timely processing of cases with simpler procedure in terms of filling up and correction of online forms and incorporation of grievances filing and redressing module.
The ultimate advantage of ‘Kritagyata’ is to benefit pensioners for which they will be able to do all these activities without making physical visits. It was informed that verification, approval and sanction will be done through online mode resulting in overall huge saving of time. The training cum awareness programme has been conducted by a dedicated NIC Assam team led by its technical director, Manabendra Goswami, Director, Pension, Prithwish Kumar Chaki, officials of Directorate of Pension, Guwahati and I.S office of Kamrup Metro district.
The team has customised the system according to the Assam Pension Rules. The application was hosted in the NIC cloud and necessary training was imparted to the officials and retirees of the districts. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajib Roy and District Informatics Officer Rahul Das also attended the training programme.
