Home delivery of grocery items temporarily stopped till further order: DC Cachar

March 31: Barnali Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar in a Facebook post on Tuesday communicated that, “The home delivery of grocery items is being temporarily stopped until further instructions. The home delivery partners have been communicated the same. You are requested to procure the grocery from your nearby grocery stores.”

The decision of home delivery of grocery items was taken due to ongoing 21 days lockdown. Some delivery partners were also roped in by district administration for home delivery of essential commodities. However, the same was discontinued very shortly. Meanwhile, on Tuesday evening, the 1st coronavirus positive case in the state was reported from Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). A 52-year old man from Srigouri in Badarpur with a travel history from Delhi tested positive.
