Santiuse Kujur, former Rajya Sabha MP leaves Congress

August 10: It’s another wicket down for the Congress and that is indeed a hat-trick in a week. Bhuvaneshwar Kalita followed by Gautam Roy and now Santiuse Kujur. The grand old party seems to lose its charm for its members. Santiuse Kujur, a former Rajya Sabha MP from Assam resigned from the Congress on 10 August, 2019.

In his resignation letter, Santiuse Kujur wrote, ““I am tendering my resignation from the party with immediate effect and this purely my personal decision.” Rumour are rife that Kujur is likely to switch over to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shortly.

It needs mention here that Congress heavyweight and former state minister Gautam Roy too tendered his resignation from the Congress on Saturday and is likely to join the saffron brigade on Sunday.
