Hailakandi NYKS undertakes awareness campaign on COVID-19

April 6: Neheu Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Hailakandi has been working for the awareness related programme from 15 March 2020 onwards which started from NYK Hailakandi office through wearing of mask & washing hands before entering office. On 20 & 21 March, 2020, all National Youth Volunteers, Ex –NSVs, Ex-NYCs through the youth club started awareness campaign like village meeting, publicity campaign, door to door campaign for the purpose of awareness on COVID-19.

Handouts on awareness on prevention of corona virus (preferably in local Languages) were circulated to NYVs, Youth, Peers, friends , Youth Clubs Office bearers and members, Panchyat Pradhan and Members, village spoke persons, fellow villagers etc. in WhatsApp group.

Many activities were also undertaken, such as, distribution of food materials, sanitisation ,drinking water distribution among security persons, door to door campaign to aware people about precaution, how to do hand wash in coordination with ASHA & Anganwadi workers. The volunteers also made people aware on the concept of social distancing. They urged upon the people to obey lockdown and stay inside their houses. Hand washing technique was also displayed by the volunteers.
