Govt plans to improve infrastructure of 4,000 schools in Assam by 2026: CM

way2barak, Oct.30: The infrastructure of around 4,000 schools in the state of Assam will soon be improved. For this an amount of ₹5,000 crore will be invested. The aim of the state government will be to complete this work by 2026. This was stated by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday during his visit to five government schools in Guwahati, as part of this initiative, to review its physical infrastructure.

“All Govt schools will get new infrastructure. As a part of this, 10 schools in Guwahati will get new buildings in 1st phase, before 4,000 more schools are covered,” stated the Chief Minister. He was accompanied during his visit to the schools by Education minister Ranoj Pegu, Education Adviser to the Assam Government Nani Gopal Mahanta and other senior officials of Education and PWD.

The 5 schools visited by the Chief Minister in Guwahati on Sunday are:  Sonaram High Secondary School, Cotton Collegiate Govt HS School, Panbazar, Kamrup Academy, Tarini Choudhury Govt Girls’ HS & MP School and Gopal Boro Govt Higher Secondary School in Ganeshguri.
