Govt of India nominates MP Rajdeep Roy as Member of Institute Body of AIIMS, Guwahati

July 16: In a notification issued by the Joint Secretary to the Government of India, Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy was appointed as member of the Institute Body of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati. The notification stated, “In exercise of the power conferred by Section 4(g) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act, 1956 (25 of 1956) as amended by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, 2012 (37 of 2012), the Central Government hereby nominates the following Members of Parliament as members of the Institute Body of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati:

1. Smt. Queen Oja, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha
2. Dr. Rajdeep Roy, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha

The term of office of the members shall be governed by the provisions contained in the Section 6 of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act, 1956.

Taking to his twitter handle, Dr. Rajdeep Roy wrote, “Thank @drharshvardhan , Minister, Health and Family Welfare, GoI, for inducting me in the “INSTITUTE BODY” ( Governing Body) of AIIMS GUWAHATI . I am honoured and humbled, Will do my best for the upliftment and early start to the prestigious institute @ himanta biswa @Pijush_hazarika”
