Ganasur donates ₹25,000 to Assam Arogya Nidhi

April 27: The outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent nationwide lockdown has brought life to a standstill. Saving lives has become the first priority of the government. Almost all economic activity has been freezed. To help the people, governing is rolling out several beneficial schemes. In this connection, the state government has formed the Assam Arogya Nidhi. On Monday, the members of socio-cultural organisation “Ganasur” from Silchar contributed a handsome amount to the state fund to help the government in its fight against coronavirus.

Members of “Ganasur” handed over a cheque of Rs.25,000 to Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy. The cheque was drawn in favour of Assam Arogya Nidhi. The cheque was handed over by President of the Club Gourachand Roy, Secretary Bibhash Roy, Jayanta Kishore Das, Anjali Das, Shubam Kar among others.

As of 24 April, 48,242 people have donated in Assam Arogya Nidhi. Taking to his twitter handle, State Finance Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “With your good wishes and support we have managed to have #COVID cases under control, so far. However we have to be ready. Glad that donations to Assam Arogya Nidhi continues. We have Rs 106 + crores now, with contributions from 48242 people. Every drop counts.”
