With 15 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 42 on 29 July, 3 deaths at SMCH
Active cases 255 in Cachar; 45 discharged on Thursday
July 29: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at 10.20 PM. As per the latest data, 15 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 42 persons were found positive in the district on 28 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 27 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 255. This was informed by District Media Expert on Thursday night. Also, 45 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 37 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 3,505 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 25 persons were found positive, whereas 17 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,007 whereas during this phase, 18,569 patients were discharged.

76 patients are in home isolation.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 28 July to 5 PM on 29 July) witnessed the death of 03 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening. One of them is from Manipur, the other two are from Karimganj and Hailakandi districts respectively. None from Cachar died due to Covid at SMCH in last 24 hours.
They deceased were identified as Y Nabachandra Singh (50) from Jiribam in Manipur, Basanti Bala Roy (70) from Katlicherra Tea Estate in Hailakandi district and Haji Foyez Ali (65) from Jakiyatola in Karimganj district.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 29 July, there were 66 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 28 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 49 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 5 patients were put under ventilator support and 41 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 08 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 11 of them were discharged.
