Excise Superintendent & Head Asstt of a school caught red handed taking bribe in 2 separate incidents in Assam

Sept. 10: In two separate incidents, two government employees were caught red-handed on Friday while taking bribe. In the first incident, a team of Directorate Vigilance & Anti Corruption Assam caught red handed Himonjyoti Bora, Superintendent of Excise, Kokrajhar District, while receiving bribe of Rs 25,000. This was tweeted by Special Director General of Police (DGP) Law & Order, GP Singh on Friday. A case has been registered in Anti-Corruption Bureau Police Station vide ACB PS case no 08/2021 U/S 7(a) of PC Act against him.

DGP Singh in another tweet on Friday informed that one Bikash Rai, Head Assistant of Lanka High School, Hojai has been apprehended red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 by a team from Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Assam. A case was also registered against the accused employee.

It needs mention here that earlier in the month of August 2021, DGP GP Singh in a tweet wrote, “People of Assam May inform through direct message at twitter handle @DIR_VAC_ASSAM or emails at adgp-vac@assampolice.gov.in or complaints.vac@gmail.com for sharing specific information about corrupt practices amongst employees of Government of Assam.”
