Entry to Baleshwar waterfall at Jalalpur closed by Forest Division

Oct. 2: A 22 years old youth , Tafazzul Alam Barabhuiyan alias Siju from Kalain went to the Baleshwar Water Falls in Katigorah of Cachar district on 13 September along with his friends. The youth got down for taking a bath, but accidentally slipped and fell down in the rushing water of the Baleshwas falls. Later on, his dead body was recovered by SDRF from the site.

This has led the administration to take stringent measures. To stop the occurrences of such tragic incidents, entry to the Baleshwar waterfall at Jalalpur has been restricted by the Karimganj Forest Division. Recently, Baleshwar Water Falls in Katigorah near the Assam-Meghalaya border has been in the news for its scenic beauty. Everyday, hundreds and thousands of people goes there to drink the cup of beauty and click selfies over there. The rush is usually more during the weekends.

Local people drew the attention of the district administration and urged for deploying security measures in the area. They also aired the view that people just turn mad when it comes to click photos in their mobile phones. A moment of joy therefore converted itself to a lifetime of sorrow for a family. Ultimately, the entry to the falls has been closed by the authorities.
