Ramakrishna Mission, Imphal distributed relief materials worth more than 70 lakh

way2barak, 28 July : The Ramakrishna Mission, Imphal, conducted the First Phase of its ongoing Manipur Refugee/Distress Relief Work, from 10 May to 20 July, 2023.

Relief items, worth more than 70 lakh rupees, consisting of dry ration, bedding & clothing, toiletries, utensils, food supplements for infants & mothers, etc. were provided to over 120 relief camps, sheltering more than 18,000 affected people, from 5700 families, in 5 districts, Bishnupur, Imphal East, Imphal West, Kakching and Thoubal.

Ramakrishna Mission, Imphal, distributed dry ration items (consisting of Dals, Salt, Sugar, Tea Powder, Milk Powder, Edible Oil, Soya Nuggets, Baby Food, Infant Milk, Mother’s Horlicks, etc.), Hygiene Kits (consisting of Bathing Soap, Washing Powder, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Hair Oil, Comb, Baby Diapers, Sanitary Pads, etc.), Utensils, as well as, local clothing items, towels, mats, blankets, bedsheets, mosquito curtains, stationaries, etc. to meet their most pressing needs in these critical times.

For Phase-2, as per the resources at their disposal, they said, would try to continue their outreach and serve the afflicted, especially, the children and nursing/expectant mothers. Efforts are also being made to arrange for some educational support to the displaced students. They also intend to procure warm clothing & thick blankets to distribute to as many affected families as possible, before the winter sets in.
