Parimal Suklabaidya distributes fish inputs under APART in Dwarbond

Nov. 2: In order to increase the efficiency of the rural fish farmers, Assam Fisheries,Excise, Forest & Environment Minister Parimal Suklabaidya took part in the ceremonial inputs distribution under Assam Agri Business and Rural Transformation Project (APART), a world bank funded project for the year 2020-21 on Monday in his own Dholai Constituency under Dwarbond Gaon Panchayat at Dwarbond Bazar Puja Mandap.

It was the 1st installment of pisciculture inputs which were distributed among the beneficiaries of various Farmer producers group by the Minister. In his speech, Parimal Suklabaidya urged upon the local farmers to emphasize on doubling the fish production by utilizing the inputs for enhancing production with technical help from government department and thereby uplift their economic status as well.

The inputs distributed were fish feed, UREA, SSP, RCD under Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project. The objective of the Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project is to ‘add value and improve resilience of selected agriculture value chains, focusing on smallholder farmers and agro-entrepreneurs in targeted districts of Assam’.

During the distribution ceremony, District Fishery Development Officer Rafiqul Hoque, West Dholai ZP Member Lakshmi Rani Yadav, Borjalenga Anchalik Panchayat Bulti Deb, Borjalenga block AP President Subudh Das, Borjalenga Block BJP president Sushil Ranjan Dhar, General Secretary Bishnu Dayal Goala and others were present.
