Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Chair Memorial Lecture Held at Assam University
ড. বি আর আম্বেদকর স্মারক বক্তৃতা আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে 

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২৬ সেপ্টেম্বর : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. বি. আর. আম্বেদকর চেয়ার-এর উদ্যোগে শুক্রবার বিকেলে প্রেমেন্দ্র মোহন গোস্বামী কনফারেন্স রুমে এক স্মারক বক্তৃতার আয়োজন করা হয়। বক্তৃতার মূল বিষয় ছিল “পুনা চুক্তি: ড. বি. আর. আম্বেদকর ও মহাত্মা গান্ধীর মধ্যে এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ চুক্তি”।

এই স্মারক বক্তৃতাটি প্রদান করেন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইংরেজি বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ও ছাত্রকল্যাণ ডিন অধ্যাপক অনুপ কুমার দে। তিনি ভারতের আর্থ-সামাজিক ও রাজনৈতিক প্রেক্ষাপটে পুনা চুক্তির ঐতিহাসিক তাৎপর্য বিস্তারিতভাবে তুলে ধরেন।

অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনা হয় ড. মৌমিতা নাথ-এর স্বাগত বক্তব্যের মাধ্যমে। তিনি আয়োজনের উদ্দেশ্য তুলে ধরেন। সভাপতিত্ব করেন চেয়ার অধ্যাপক (ভারপ্রাপ্ত) ড. দেবতোষ চক্রবর্তী। প্রায় ৫০ জন অধ্যাপক, গবেষক ও বিভিন্ন বিভাগের স্নাতকোত্তর শিক্ষার্থীর উপস্থিতিতে অনুষ্ঠানটি সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন হয়।

বক্তৃতা শেষে অধ্যাপক চক্রবর্তীর তত্ত্বাবধানে শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে এক প্রাণবন্ত আলোচনা পর্ব অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এতে অন্য বিশিষ্ট অতিথিদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন অধ্যাপক হিমাদ্রি শেখর দাস, ড. রামচরণ দাস, ড. শুভদীপ রায় চৌধুরী প্রমুখ। ড. আম্বেদকর চেয়ার-এর গবেষক বিশাল দাসের ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপনের মাধ্যমে অনুষ্ঠান শেষ হয়।

Way2barak, September 26 : Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Chair of Assam University, Silchar organized a Memorial Lecture on “The Poona Pact: A Pivotal Agreement Between Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi” on September 26 at 3 PM in the Premendra Mohan Goswami Conference Room of the University.

The lecture was delivered by Prof. Anup Kumar Dey, Professor in the Department of English and Dean of Students’ Welfare, Assam University. Prof. Dey’s thought-provoking address captivated the audience, shedding light on the historical significance of the Poona Pact in India’s socio-political landscape.

The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Maumita Nath, who spoke about the objectives of the event. It was chaired by Prof. Debotosh Chakraborty, Chair Professor (in-charge). The session drew an audience of around 50, including faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students from various departments.

Following the lecture, an interactive session with students was convened by Prof. Chakraborty, fostering lively discussion and engagement.

Distinguished guests in attendance included Prof. Himadri Sekhar Das, Dr. Ramcharan Das, Dr. Shubhadeep Roy Choudhury, Shatadal Acharya, and Paplu Deb, among others. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks offered by Bishal Das, research scholar of the Dr. Ambedkar Chair.
