শিক্ষক দিবসে মরণোত্তর সম্মান পাচ্ছেন বিশ্বজিত কর (বিষ্ণু)ও
Dist. Administration to honour Bishnu Kar posthumously on Teachers’ Day

৫ই সেপ্টেম্বর শিক্ষক দিবসে এ বারও কাছাড় জেলার কৃতী শিক্ষকদের সংবর্ধনা জানাচ্ছে জেলা প্রশাসন। বুধবার শিলচর জেলা গ্রন্থাগার ভবনে আয়োজিত সরকারি অনুষ্ঠানে তালিকা অনুযায়ী মোট ২৯ জন শিক্ষককে সংবর্ধনা জানানো হবে।

এই তালিকায় মনসা মূর্তি ভাসানে গিয়ে বরাকের জলে ডুবে মৃত্যু হওয়া উত্তর কৃষ্ণপুরের মোহাম্মদ ইয়াসিন চৌধুরী হাইস্কুলের শিক্ষক বিশ্বজিৎ করের নামও রয়েছে। তাঁকে মরণোত্তর এই সম্মান জানানো হবে। জেলা গ্রন্থাগার ভবনে আয়োজিত শিক্ষক দিবসের জেলাস্তরের কেন্দ্রীয় অনুষ্ঠানে এ দিন মুখ্য অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন প্রাক্তন কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী তথা শিক্ষক কবীন্দ্র পুরকায়স্থ।

সম্মানিত অতিথি হিসেবে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বাংলা বিভাগের অধ্যাপক বিশ্বতোষ চৌধুরীরও উপস্থিত থাকার কথা রয়েছে।

September 5 is celebrated as Teachers’ Day as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society. It is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of a great teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education, and was a well-known diplomat, scholar, the President of India and above all, a teacher.

On that day eminent teachers of Cachar will be honoured by the district administration. As per the list prepared by the administration, a total of 29 teachers will be felicitated in a formal programme to be held at Silchar District Library Auditorium.

The list also contains the name of Biswajit Kar (Bishnu), who slipped and died during immersion of idol of Manasha a few days back. Bishnu was a teacher at Mohd. Yasin Choudhury High School at Uttar Krishnapur. He will be given the award posthumously. The chief guest of this district level official programme of Teachers’ day will be former Union Minister and teacher Kabindra Purkayastha. Prof. Biswatosh Choudhury will grace the ceremony as the guest of honour.
