DC Cahar inaugurates Jeevandeep ‘Oxygen on Wheels’ on Monday
June 7: As part of the Arogya Cachar campaign, Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar has inaugurated the Jeevandeep Programme in Silchar. The basic objective of the programme is to support those patients who are mildly symptomatic and are having breathing difficulties. As this is monsoon season, many patients experience sinusitis (a condition in which the cavities around the nasal passages become inflamed) and Severe Acute Respiratory Infections (SARI) like symptoms.
Covid affects breathing as well. For those who are hesitating to be admitted in hospital, as temporary respite they can use this facility to stabilise their oxygen needs. DC Jalli informed that there will two dedicated teams of CHO and paramedics working round the clock equipped with mobile van, oxygen concentrator, generator, pulse oxymetre etc.
Once patients call the war room, the the teams will reach to their residence to support the patient with oxygen concentrator. Once the patient is stabilised, the ambulance will pick up the patient to admit in hospital, if needed. DC Jalli was accompanied by Elded Fairem, CEO, Zilla Parishad, Dr. B. J. Deb Sikdar, i/c Jt. Director of Health Services and several officials of the district administration and health department.
