DC Cachar expresses disappointment over performance of BEEOs
February 26:Education is the backbone of the society and also for the nation. In order to strengthen the educational scenario in Cachar district, a Review Meeting was held on Tuesday in the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Office.
The meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri was also attended by ADC Ranadip Dam, Executive Magistrate Dibyajyoti Gogoi, all the Block Elementary Educational Officers (BEEO) and functionaries from the Sarbashisksha Abhiyan, Cachar.

The prime objective of the meeting was to streamline the affairs related to education in Cachar district. The the Deputy Commissioner inquired about the pace of progress in the department and gave clear instructions to the BEEOs to ensure facilities of safe drinking water and toilets in all the schools across all the blocks of the district.
Laya Madduri gave clear instruction to the BEEOs to visit the schools in their respective blocks once a week and submit a review report with relevant pictures on the designated Whatsapp group. While interacting with the officials, DC Cachar expressed disappointment over the performance of the BEEOs which is affecting the overall environment of education at the schools.
On the other hand, the teachers have stated that due to NRC related duties, most of the teachers were kept engaged in the NRC related works. This was hampering the teaching-learning process to a great extent.
