নান্দনিকতায় ভরে উঠল এনআইটির সাংস্কৃতিক অঙ্গন
Cultural conglomeration; Aesthetics at its peak at NIT Silchar

৭ দিন ধরে শিলচর এনআইটি চত্বরে ছিল উৎসবের মেজাজ। সাংস্কৃতিক কর্মশালাটি যেন উৎসবের অঙ্গন। কেউ গান গেয়েছেন, কেউ নেচেছেন, আবার কেউ অভিনয় করেছেন।

অনুষ্ঠানটি আসলে ছিল ইন্সটিটিউটের প্রথম বর্ষের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের সঙ্গে অন্যদের সাংস্কৃতিক ভাব বিনিময়ের এক সোপান। এই সাংস্কৃতিক সপ্তাহ চলেছে ২০ থেকে ২৮ আগস্ট পর্যন্ত। দশ দিনের এই সাংস্কৃতিক কর্মশালায় দেশের বিভিন্ন প্রান্ত থেকে আসা প্রায় ১৫০ জন শিক্ষার্থী যোগদান করে। প্রচন্ড উৎসাহের সঙ্গেই নতুন বছরের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা নাচ, গান, নাটকের শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করেছে।

প্রতিদিন বিকেল ৫টা থেকে রাত ৯টা অবদি চলেছে কর্মশালা। পুরো কর্মশালার পরিচালনায় ছিলেন বিশিষ্ট নৃত্য শিক্ষক ও নাট্য ব্যক্তিত্ব সত্যজিৎ বসু। তাঁকে সাহায্য করেছেন তার ছাত্রছাত্রী অমরজিৎ পান্ডে, পুনম ধর। সঙ্গীত পরিচালনায় ছিলেন উপত্যকার বিশিষ্ট সঙ্গীত শিল্পী বিক্রমজিৎ বাউলিয়া। সহযোগিতায় ছিলেন অংকিতা বর্ধন, টিনা দেবনাথ এবং সাজ সজ্জায় মধুমিতা বসু।

কর্মশালার সমাপ্তি পর্বে মুখ্য অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন এনআইটির ডিরেক্টর অধ্যাপক শিবাজি বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এ দিন নবাগত পড়ুয়ারা প্রচুর সংখ্যায় উপস্থিত ছিল। এনআইটি স্পোর্টস কমপ্লেক্সে আয়োজিত এই অনুষ্ঠানে এ দিন কী না ছিল, গুজরাটি, বাংলা, অসমিয়া এমনকি পাশ্চাত্যের নৃত্যের ধরন সবার মন ভরিয়ে দিয়েছে। এদিন নবাগত পড়ুয়ারা দুটি নাটকও মঞ্চস্থ করে। ‘রাজা কা বাজা’ এবং ‘অউরত’ নাটক দুটি সবার মন ছুয়েছে। আর পুরো অনুষ্ঠান জুড়ে ছিল কিছু সুরেলা উপহার, যা সত্যিই এক নান্দনিক পরিবেশের সৃষ্টি করেছিল গোটা ইন্সটিটিউট চত্বর জুড়ে।

For seven days, there was a festive mood in NIT Silchar. Songs, dance & drama-all these branches of art mingled in perfection after being polished by the mentors. August 20 marked the beginning of the Cultural Week that was held as a part of the Induction Programme for the freshers.

Around 150 1^st year students coming from different parts of the country actively participated in this week long cultural workshop. It was a cultural conglomeration where the mentors helped in manifesting their latent talent. The timing of the workshop was from 5 PM till 9 PM.

The cultural workshop was steered and directed by distinguished Dance Teacher and Drama Personality Satyajit Bose. He was assisted by his students Amarjit Pandey & Poonam Dhar. Bikramjit Baulia, a prominent singer of the valley was in-charge of the vocal musical part. He was assisted in grooming the participants by Ankita Bardhan & Tina Debnath. Madhumita Basu supervised the arrangement of decoration.

The induction programme came to an end on 28 August with a cultural programme where the participants showcased the output of their grooming sessions. The Chief Guest of the programme was Prof. Sivaji Bandyopadhyay, Director NIT, Silchar. The programme organized at the Sports Complex of NIT was a full package of entertainment. The spectators mainly comprised of the new students. Dance & musical performances were made in Gujarati, Bengali and Assamese. A few western items were also presented. Two dramas ‘Raja Ka Baja,’ and ‘Aurat’ won the hearts of the audience. It can thus be said that it was aesthetics at its peak at NIT, Silchar owing to the rich cultural conglomeration.
