Train services restored at hill section

৭ সেপ্টেম্বরঃ মোষের সঙ্গে কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা এক্সপ্রেসের ধাক্কায় বৃহস্পতিবার বিকেলে পাহাড় লাইনে ট্রেন চলাচল বিঘ্নিত হলেও রাতেই তা স্বাভাবিক হয়ে ওঠে। রাত ৮টা বাজতে পারে, অনুমান করে রিকভারি ভ্যান কাজ শুরু করেছিল। কিন্তু শেষ করে নেয় এর অনেক আগেই। ফলে রাতে পাহাড় লাইন ধরে যে কটি ট্রেনের যাতায়াতের কথা ছিল, সবকটিই নির্বিঘ্নে চলাচল করেছে। শুধু দুর্ঘটনাগ্রস্ত কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা এক্সপ্রেসের শিয়ালদহ পৌঁছাতে কিছুটা দেরি হয়েছে। শিলচরের স্টেশন সুপার বিপ্লব দাস জানিয়েছেন, দুর্ঘটনার দরুন এ দিক থেকে ট্রেন ছাড়ার সময়সূচিতে কোনও পরিবর্তন হয়নি।সমস্ত ট্রেন চলেছে তার নির্ধারিত সূচি অনুসারে।

September 7: After colliding with a buffalo, Sealdah bound Kanchenjunga which originated from Agartala derailed in between Jatinga-Lampur and New Haflong yesterday afternoon. As such, railway services in the hill section was affected. However, the track was cleared in a war footing and trains began to ply normally since yesterday night.

Recovery train from Badarpur reached the spot of the accident and set to work. Their target was to clear the tract by 8 PM on Friday. However, they finished their work one hour ahead of their target. As a result, train service in the hill section became normal on Friday night itself. However, Kanchenjuna Express which was derailed reached Sealdah late than its scheduled arrival.

Biplob Das, Station Superintendent said that all trains originating from Silchar departed as per schedule.
