23 No. Pally Mahila Sangstha felicitate doctors discharged from quarantine

May 6: The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic has become a major challenge for the nations. But thanks to the health professionals, who have dedicated their services for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. As per protocol, the team of health professionals involved in the treatment of corona patients needs to go for compulsory quarantine for a period of 14 days after doing duty for 7 days in COVID-19 ward. As such, those involved in the treatment of corona patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) from 13 to 19 April were put under quarantine for 2 weeks. On Wednesday, 12 doctors quarantined at Hotel Sagarika Regency were discharged.

After the formal discharge ceremony organised by district administration, the entire team of doctors were felicitated by the members of 23 No. Pally Mahila Sangstha. The Sangstha felicitated the real COVID Warriors at Hotel Sagarika. Present during the felicitation ceremony were Madhumita Paul- Secretary of the Sangstha, Anita Dam, Mousumi Ghosh, Rina Dey, Yasmin Begum and Tamashi Paul.

Speaking to way2barak, Madhumita Paul, Secretary of 23 No. Pally Mahila Sangstha said, “We are indeed honoured to be able to felicitate the doctors, who are the real COVID warriors. The doctors, nurses and all para-medical staff have engaged themselves in treatment of the deadly disease leaving behind their families for almost a month. We most humbly acknowledge with gratitude their selfless service.”

The team of doctors before being discharged were tested for COVID-19 on 1st, 5th, 14th & 15th day of the quarantine phase and all their tests were negative. The doctors who were discharged and later felicitated were Dr. Amit Kumar Kalwar (Team Leader), Dr. Rupam Das, Dr. Sanjeeb, Dr.Avinash, Dr. Jefrine, Dr. Arnab, Dr. Debanjali, Dr. Sangeeta, Dr. Jyotsna, Dr. Jacqueline, Dr.Saurav, and Dr. Nilanjana.
