Covid spike continues in Cachar, 14 detected positive on Tuesday
Active cases 84 in Cachar, 1 discharged
Jan. 4: The number of coronavirus cases in Cachar district on Tuesday increased considerable. The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Tuesday at 11.00 PM. As per the latest data, 14 persons were found positive in the district on 4 January. Also, 01 patient was discharged (none from hospital & 01 from home) during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 84. On Monday, 16 persons were found positive in Cachar. It needs mention here that in Assam, the number of daily positive cases was recorded at 475.
As per the updated data, a total of 1,565 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 05 persons were found positive, whereas 09 were detected positive out of 381 RT-PCR Tests. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,636 whereas during this phase, 20,333 patients were discharged.
The Covid-19 cases at SMCH has somewhat increased at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) since the last 4 days. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 03 January to 5 PM on 04 January) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at SMCH. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 04 January, there were 14 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patient was put under ventilator support, but 01 is in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 02 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 01 was discharged.
