Assam registers 14 more COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday, toll rises to 274

August 26: Assam registered another 14 more COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday, the highest single day deaths so far in the state. With this, the death tally of the state has now gone upto 274. This was confirmed in a tweet by State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday night. The deceased were identified as:

• Pankajini Sheel (81) & Subhranghu Chanda (76) from Cachar
• Nritendra Chandra Das (75) & Birendra Kumar Ghosh (75) from Karimganj
• Aziuddin Ahmed (39) from Nalbari
• Jitu Chetry (36) from Sivasagar
• Rajijul Hogue (62) from Tinsukia
• Rohim Boragohain (58) from Lakhimpur
• Mintulal Dey (71) from Dhubri
• Hafizuddin Ahmed (68) from Nagaon
• Anu Sharma (75) from Golaghat
• Abdul Jabbar (50) from Hojai
• Shriram Baishya (65) from Nalbari
• Dipak Bhumik (61) from Kamrup Metro
