Containment Zone declared in parts of RK Nagar after 7 years child tests positive

June 24: In view of detection of COVID-I9 positive case of a 7-years-old male child at Oliviacherra, Ramkrishna Nagar in Karimganj district (whose father is presently in Bangaluru),  it is necessary to arrest the spread of COVID-19 in district. Hence, a Containment Zone with the following boundaries is hereby notified as:

• Containment Zone: House of Sri Pawan Lohar to 5OO mtr. radius.
• East : Paddy field of Rajkuma Mallah
• West : Section No. 7 of Khekragool Division (Oliviacherra) under Goombira T. E.
• North: 759 No. Khekragool L. P. School South: Quarter Line Up-graded Khekragool L. P. School

Due to sealing of the area as indicated above, the following restrictions are imposed:

1. Strict perimeter control should be enacted in the Containment Zone, i.e., clear entry and exit points to be established.
2. Vehicles and persons entering and exiting the Containment Zone shall be restricted and sanitized as per protocol.
3. There shall be social mobilization activities with the principles of social/physical distancing among the population in the Containment Zone.
4. All mass gathering events and meetings in public or private places, in the Containment Zone shall be cancelled till such time, the area is declared to be free of COVID-I9.
5. The containment measures will shut down everything barring essential services.

This order was issued by District Magistrate & Chairman, DDMA under ‘The Assam COVID-19 Containment Regulations, 2020″ and shall be effective from 7 A.M. of 23 June, 2020 until further order.
