Constitution day observed in Cachar
Nov. 26 : Constitution Day was observed in all government offices of Cachar district and under amalgamated establishments of Deputy Commissioner’s office by maintaining Covid-19 protocols on Thursday.
At the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Constitution Day was observed in a befitting manner. Additional Deputy Commissioner Cachar, Rajib Roy explained the significance of the day and it’s objectives.
Deputy Commissioner Cachar, Keerthi Jalli spoke on the significance of the Preamble of Indian Constitution. She said, “Dr. B R Ambedkar did a commendable job by giving us such a well-written Preamble which embodies the basic philosophy and fundamental values on which the Constitution is based. It contains the grand and noble vision of the Constituent Assembly. It also reflects the dreams and aspirations of the founding fathers of the Constitution.”
“We all should abide by the Constitution. Both the Preamble and the Constitution act as sources of light and inspire us to move ahead.” Jalli quipped. Later, the preamble was read out by Deputy Commissioner Cachar, Keerthi Jalli along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Cachar, Rajib Roy, Additional Superintendent of Police Cachar , Jagadish Das and other staff of the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
In view of ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the staff of different government departments like Office of Assistant Labour Commissioner, Executive Engineer, PWD Building, Office of Assistant Commissioner Taxes, Social Welfare, DDIPR, Office of Executive Engineer, Water Resources, etc. took pledge at their respective offices by maintaining social distance and wearing face masks.
