CEO Assam Nitin Khade submits list of 126 new elected MLAs to the Governor

May 4: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Assam Nitin Khade on Tuesday met Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi and submitted the Notification of the election of 126 new elected MLAs of Assam Legislative Assembly and handed it over to him. The CEO Assam submitted the Notification duly signed by the Senior Principal Secretary, Election Commission of India, Narendra N. Butolia.

The BJP led alliance in the state has got a clear mandate from the electorate in Assam and are going to form the government this week in the state. However, till now, it has remain as a mystery as to who would adorn the chair of the Chief Minister. Speculations are ripe among the people on this issue. Though many are in favour of continuation of Sarbananda Sonowal in the post. However, there are also supporters who want to see Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in the coveted chair of the Chief Minister. So till the final approval comes from the BJP high command, it’s going to be the most hotly debated topic in Assam.
