Cachar Police seizes 3,750 urea bags diverted from govt stocks
Feb. 3: In a sensational raid conducted by Cachar Police at Damcherra, 3,750 bags of urea which were diverted from government stock were seized. Informing this Cachar Police stated, “Four trucks carrying illegal fertilizers are intercepted and following further a godown is raided. Total 3750 bags recovered which were diverted for illegitimate causes. Further linkages are being investigated.”
Appreciating the move of Cachar Police, Assam chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “An investigation into 4 trucks carrying fertilizers without documents followed by a raid in Damcherra has led to seizure of 3750 urea bags (diverted from Govt stock) in Cachar. Truck drivers apprehended. Good work @assampolice. We shall not tolerate any pilferage of public goods.”
