Cachar Police arrests 4 Mizo residents for allegedly selling country liquor in Assam

Sept. 5: Cachar police on Saturday apprehended four youths from Mizoram while selling illicit country-made liquor at Khulichara area under the Dholai sub-division in the Assam-Mizoram border. Sources revealed that all four Mizo youths are the residents of Phainum area of Mizoram. Based on specific inputs in the Khulichara village, Cachar Police nabbed the four Mizoram youths who were identified as Lalnunhlima, Laldawngliana, Lalfakawma and Lalthakima. Around 100 litres of illicit country made-liquor were seized from their possession.

However, the Superintendent of police, Kolasib district in Mizoram, Valnalfaka Ralte claimed that the four arrested Mizo youths to be innocent and are not involved in any kind of selling of illegal country-made liquor.
